“Mmmm….” crooned Draco. “Mmm…” moaned Harry.

Since the tender age of 10 years-old, when I first started reading Harry Potter, I have been swarmed by Harry Potter fanfiction from the Internet.

In my search for the ultimate funny and colourful banner to suit the consensus of this blog, I first looked at Anime, then Hello Kitty, Kerropi, Domo-Kun…anything that was Japanese-related and weird. Then I thought about Harry Potter and the henious amount of fanfiction out there, so I combined the laughing-stock that is Daniel Radcliffe with a doujinshi of Malfoy. Harry and Malfoy are often seen as a pair in the world of fanfic, which I, at first, found quite odd and slightly disturbing (they’re meant to hate each other, come on! Although I suppose in the world of fanfic, and more specifically Yaoi, sex is all that matters really…).

So anyway, there’s a huge deal going on with this Harry Potter fanfic. And it’s not just Malfoy x Potter either. Here’s a list off the top of my head of “shipper” couples:

• Harry x Malfoy
• Hermione x Snape (wth!? Yuck!!!)
• Ron x Harry (I know!)
• Harry x Hermione (I saw that one coming)
• Sirius x Lupin (they’d make a cute couple actually)
• Snape x James (seriously…)
• Neville x Luna (not really written about, just lots of fans clamouring for this couple to form in the books)

There are probably plenty more out there, and I’m sure JK Rowling is crying in her sleep every night thinking about how totally wrong all those fanfic-ers are in conjunction with her book. Of course, fan-fic-ers are out there to constantly make our lives more grim coming up with totally random couplings (seriously, I am still not over Snape x Hermione, wth!?). In addition, how the heck did Snape become a sex icon? Greasy hair, fat, mouldy skin…come on guys, have some taste…

Here’s a snippet of a fanfic, although this is one of the more extreme ones:

“The pale boy sighed as his lover pulled him into a strong embrace. He didn’t need to worry… if only for now. He would take whatever he could get from the wizarding world’s Saviour. And he would love every minute of it.

Draco shivered uncontrollably when soft, skilled hands trailed over his robed shoulders. Little flashes of heat raced through his body and he whimpered. Harry chuckled into his neck as he moulded their bodies together in the dark of the moonlight.“

I mean, seriously, get a grip!
